Importing Item Price Level Updates

Many customers use the export/import feature to make changes to their Price List.

The procedure is to export your Items List, open it in Excel, change the desired prices, then import back into your company file. This can be done with any list found in AccountEdge.  When importing back into your company file, make sure that you have included the required fields and applicable Quantity Breaks (referred to in this article as: "QB").

For example, if you want to change your base selling price for an item, You must import the following fields:

  • Item #
  • Selling Price
  • QB1
  • Price Level A, QB1.

To change the base selling price, the selling price and Price Level A/QB1 must be changed to the same value.

Some rules for importing items to change selling prices for QB1 (the left-most column on price grid) :

  • Import must always include the QB1. The QB1 field must be valued 0; it cannot be blank
  • Price level A, QB1 = the base selling price. If your import file has different values for selling price and Price Level A/QB1, you will get a warning and no price changes will be made.
  • If you are changing Price Levels B-F for QB1, you do not need to include the selling price field in the import.
  • The prices will not change if you do not include the quantity break to which the price applies.
