Washington DC Paid Family Medical Leave

Background

The Washington D.C. Paid Family Leave (PFL) program is fully funded by employers. Since it is an employer-only program, there is no need to withhold premiums from employee wages.

Employers with at least one employee working in Washington D.C. are required to participate in the program. The size of the business, such as having 50 employees or more, does not impact this requirement.
