User ID or Password is Incorrect

You can reset passwords and see a list of User IDs by logging in as the Administrator. The account with the User ID of Administrator is the only account that has access to this information. If you do not have your admin password, you would follow the instructions below:

The default Admin password is always blank until a user sets a password. If you are getting a password prompt and don't remember setting one, first, verify that the User ID is Administrator and that the Password field is left Blank. If you attempt to click 'enter' see if this will grant you access. Proceed to the following steps if this did not work.

If you are using AccountEdge 2021 or older:

There is no built-in way to reset passwords in your company file on versions older than 2021--you will need to upgrade your software to a newer version that offers password resets.

If you are using AccountEdge 2022 or newer:

1. Go to the 'Change Password' option in the software. You should see a window with several blank fields. To the right of the final empty field, there should be a reference number. leaving all other fields blank, enter the corresponding password reset code below in the final field, and click the 'Reset' button:

This should clear out whatever password was registered to your Company File.
