Module Required to Open This Window (Mac Only)

The Payroll module of AccountEdge Pro is required to open this window.

The Time Billing module of AccountEdge Pro is required to open this window.

Either of these messages will be generated on a Mac when the Resource files are missing or have the incorrect access permissions. To resolve:

  1. Navigate to the Applications folder in Finder
  2. If the product is Canadian AccountEdge, Control-click (or right-click) on the AccountEdge icon
  3. If the product is US AccountEdge, open the AccountEdge Pro 20YY folder, and Control-click (or right-click) on the AccountEdge icon
  4. Select Show Package Contents
  5. In the subsequent window, open the Contents folder
  6. Open the Resources folder
    • Verify the AccountEdge Payroll.rsrc exists
    • Verify the AccountEdge Time Billing.rsrc exists
  7. If either of the files are missing, you will need to reinstall AccountEdge Pro
  8. If the files are present, in the Finder window, go back to the folder where you can see the Contents folder
  9. Click once on the Contents folder and click File > Get Info
  10. At bottom of the Get Info window, check the File & Permissions (may have to click the disclosure triangle)
  11. Change the Privilege for all 3 levels to Read only (you may need to click on padlock in lower right-hand corner and enter password for the Mac)
  12. Click the action gear box, and select Apply to all enclosed files
  13. Close the Get Info window
  14. Reopen the Get Info window
  15. Change the Privilege for all 3 levels to Read Write (you may need to click on padlock in lower right-hand corner and enter password for the Mac)
  16. Click the action gear box, and select Apply to all enclosed files
  17. Close the Get Info window

The permissions of the resources will have been changed, and the Payroll and Time Billing modules will be available.

If the resource files are either missing or the permissions are incorrect on a Windows machine, the Payroll and Time Billing icons will be missing from the Command Center window. The resolution is similar in that you will first need to check for existence of the resource files, then verify permissions are correct.
