Installing AccountEdge

Background

Installing the latest version of AccountEdge can be done from either an email that was sent to you as a link or your online AccountEdge account or by using the links below.

In order to insure that your computer can properly run the AccountEdge program please check our operating system requirements. If your computer does not meet the requirements please update the operating system before installing AccountEdge.

Note for Users Installing Both US and Canadian Versions of AccountEdge for Windows

AccountEdge for Windows always attempts to install to C:\AccountEdgePro. Because of this you need to follow a specific series of steps. This is only necessary for the Windows version - it is not required for Mac. 

AccountEdge Pro for Windows (US)

Please Note: These are links for the LATEST version of the software. If you are installing on a new computer or have never used the LATEST version of the software on the computer you are currently using the software will appear in trial mode until the software is Registered. You will have 30 days in trial mode before Registration is required.

If you have an older version of AccountEdge you would need to purchase the software to use this latest version. If you upgrade your file during the trial version please know that the file cannot be "downgraded" to work with a previous version.

  1. Click the download link either provided via email or your AccountEdge online account, here.
  2. Click AccountEdge_Pro_Win.exe located in the lower left corner of your web browser (if you are using Chrome) or find where you saved the download
  3. Click Next
  4. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement
  5. Click Next
  6. Click Next
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Finish
  9. The shortcut to AccountEdge Pro will now show on your desktop

AccountEdge Pro for Mac (US)

Please Note: These are links for the LATEST version of the software. If you are installing on a new computer or have never used the LATEST version of the software on the computer you are currently using the software will appear in trial mode until the software is Registered. You will have 30 days in trial mode before Registration is required.

If you have an older version of AccountEdge you would need to purchase the software to use this latest version. If you upgrade your file during the trial version please know that the file cannot be "downgraded" to work with a previous version.

  1. Click the download link either provided via email or your AccountEdge online account, here.
  2. Click AccountEdge_Pro_Mac.dmg.zip located in the lower left corner of your web browser (if you are using Chrome) or find where you saved the download
  3. Double click AccountEdge Pro 20##.dmg located in the Downloads folder
  4. Click Agree
  5. Double click the AccountEdge Pro 20## box above where it says Start Here
  6. Click Continue
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Continue
  9. Click Agree
  10. Click Install
  11. Enter your MAC password and click Install Software
  12. Click Close
  13. A window called ‘AccountEdge Pro 20##’ should already be opened for you
  14. Click and drag AccountEdge Pro V20## to either the dock or your desktop and then release the mouse (if desired)
  15. Double click on the icon for AccountEdge NE V20##

AccountEdge NE for Mac (US)

Please Note: These are links for the LATEST version of the software. If you are installing on a new computer or have never used the LATEST version of the software on the computer you are currently using the software will appear in trial mode until the software is Registered.   3. Double click AccountEdge NE 20XX.dmg located in the Downloads folder
  4. Click Agree
  5. Double click the AccountEdge NE box above where it says Start Here
  6. Click Continue
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Continue
  9. Click Agree
  10. Click Install
  11. Enter your MAC password and click Install Software
  12. Click Continue Installation
  13. Click Restart
  14. Click the ‘Go’ menu located at the top of the screen
  15. Click ‘Applications’
  16. Look for AccountEdge NE V20## folder and click into it
  17. Click and drag the AccountEdge NE V20## application to either the dock or your desktop and then release the mouse (if desired)
  18. Double click on the icon for AccountEdge NE V20##
  19. The AccountEdge program now launches

AccountEdge Pro for Windows (CA)

  3. Double click AccountEdge Pro Canada 20##.dmg located in the Downloads folder
  4. Click Agree
  5. Click the icon called AccountEdge Pro V20## and drag the icon to the folder called Applications then release the mouse
  6. Close the AccountEdge Pro Canada 20## window
  7. Close the Download window
  8. Click "Go" located on the menu bar at the top of the screen across from the apple
  9. Click "Applications"
  10. Look for AccountEdge Pro V20##
  11. Click and drag AccountEdge Pro V20## to either the dock or your desktop and then release the mouse (if desired)
  12. Double click on the icon for AccountEdge Pro V20##
  13. A window shows the application was downloaded from the internet, do you want to open? Click Open
  14. This will bring you to the "Welcome to AccountEdge" screen

AccountEdge NE for Mac (CA)

  6. Click Continue
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Continue
  9. Click Agree
  10. Click Install
  11. Enter your MAC password and click Install Software
  12. Click Continue Installation
  13. Click Restart
  14. Click the ‘Go’ menu located at the top of the screen
  15. Click ‘Applications’
  16. Look for AccountEdge NE V20##
  17. Click and drag AccountEdge NE V20## to either the dock or your desktop and then release the mouse (if desired)
  18. Double click on the icon for AccountEdge NE V20##
  19. The AccountEdge program now launches
